Raund Haus recruits Astronautica to King's on the heels of label announcement

What began as a place to "get these bedroom producers out" and showcase their work became a proving ground for the next class of beatmakers in the Triangle.
Now, the beat junkies known as Raund Haus are poised to anchor themselves in the scene with the announcement of their own record label.
The announcement comes almost a year after the team's first event at The Shed back in April. Nick Wallhauser (Gappa), one of the group's founding members, remembers the first event as a surprise success.
"All we wanted was to play fucking beats somewhere. We never thought that many people would come."
Performances from the inaugural event included Gappa, Trandle and Drozy, all members of the Raund Haus team, and a special appearance from Oak City Slums, whose performance set, raised, and then reset the bar that night. In their first showcase, it was clear Raund Haus was building the foundation for a movement.
The next step came in November when Raund Haus and Runaway put their collective powers together to bring HW&W Tek.Lun to Durham. Placing Durham's own on stage with highly-talented producers from across the country was a gauge for the caliber of artists Raund Haus could both foster here in North Carolina and enlist from across the country as part of the growing scene.
Now, on the eve of the team's one-year anniversary, Raund Haus continues to make an impression. Be sure to check out their website for future events including a March 18 showcase at King's featuring Astronautica with additional performances from Away Msg, Chocolate Rice, and Marv Krown.
